Meet Our Physical Therapist
Doctor Lauren MacGuire Bolling is a native of Knoxville. She was introduced to physical therapy as a patient rehabilitating from an injury while playing soccer in high school. She set goals after this injury to become a physical therapist in hopes of being able to help people heal from their own injuries. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/Pre-Med focus, laid the foundation for applying to physical therapy school. The dream of becoming a physical therapist became a reality in 1999 when she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Physical Therapy program. Dr. MacGuire later returned to UTC to get her doctorate in physical therapy while also becoming APTA Board certified as a Geriatric Certified Specialist (GCS) in 2013.
Dr. MacGuire has a passion for healing people within the scope of practice of a physical therapist. She has over 20 years of experience as a physical therapist with many tools in her therapy toolbox. Dr. MacGuire has extensive training in: the McKenzie method trained by the McKenzie institute, and, pelvic health training by Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In addition, she has extra training in sports related injuries, pre and post-operative care for orthopedic conditions, balance and falls prevention, vertigo/BPPV and dry needling. Dr. MacGuire believes that there is always more to learn in the science of healing. She is constantly researching innovative ways to help heal her patients and achieve functional gains. Above all, she enjoys connecting with her patients while teaching them how to help heal themselves and prevent future injuries through prescription of therapeutic exercise and activities. Dr. MacGuire believes one-on-one, hands-on attention in physical therapy is the game changer to efficient progress in physical therapy. She is a dedicated professional who cares about her patients and is excited to be a part of your rehabilitation.
